James Wakefield

James has taught college chemistry for several years and is familiar with the difficulties many students experience when learning chemistry. He spent three and a half years as a visiting assistant professor of chemistry at Franklin & Marshall College (Lancaster, PA) and continued working on chemical education issues with the POGIL (http://www.pogil.org) and MADCP (http://madcp.fandm.edu) projects there for three additional years. Most recently he taught general chemistry for non-majors at Central Oregon Community College in Bend, Oregon.

Currently he serves as coordinator for POGIL Northwest Regional Network, and began organizing and facilitating POGIL workshops on student-centered learning in 2008. Résumé available here.
