My name is James Wakefield. I live in Bend, Oregon and I am the tutor at ChemPractice. I have taught college chemistry for several years and currently teach part-time at COCC here in Bend. I am familiar with the difficulties many students experience when learning chemistry, and I started ChemPractice in 1999 to provide supplemental drills work for my students and others through the Internet.
After three and a half years of teaching and research at F&M, I joined the newly created POGIL project, an NSF-supported initiative to promote student-centered learning nation-wide.

In late 2005, a family move brought me here to Bend. I now work part-time via telecommute for the POGIL project and have begun offering tutoring services for chemistry and math students at the high school and college levels.
